Loryn N. Cassady, 20, of Logan, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, as a result of an auto accident. She was born January 14, 1993 in Lancaster, Ohio, daughter of Robert J. Cassady of Logan and Wanda J. Whitcraft McLaughlin of Logan.
She was a student at The Ohio State University. Loryn was a graduate and Valedictorian of Logan High School Class of 2011, the 2010 Homecoming Queen, a member of the Varsity Basketball and Soccer Teams, where she received many honors and was also a member of the National Honor Society. She was pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy at The Ohio State University where she was active in sports Medicine Research and Hippo Therapy, helping mentally challenged children. Her passion was animals, pets and children.
In addition to her parents, Loryn is survived by her brothers, Robert “Bobby” (Ann Bachmann) Cassady, Ryan Cassady, Kyle Cassady and Mike McLaughlin, all of Logan; sisters, Kristen Cassady, Heather Cassady and Jennifer McLaughlin, all of Logan; the love of her life, Jordan Jurgensmier of Logan; stepfather, Richard McLaughlin of Logan; grandparents, Robert and Mary Cassady of Logan; several aunts, uncles and cousins and her dog, Allie.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Marilyn Whitcraft.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Friday, July 12, 2013 in the Logan Church of The Nazarene, 650 Walhonding Ave., Logan, with Pastor Andy Good officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the Logan Church of The Nazarene on Thursday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
