Obituary

Delores C. Marsh 

Passed away April 9, 2023 at the age 98 years 9 months 4 days.  

She was born on July 5, 1924 in Kerkhoven, Minnesota to William O. and Christie (Myhre) Johnson.  Delores grew up in Liberty Township rural Bemidji, MN and attended the one room school house known as Pony Lake School.  Her career included: short-order cook at Mickey’s Diner, bookkeeper at Landfall Service Center in St. Paul and LaBon Truck Stop in Hudson, WI, where she retired in 1986. 

Proceeded in death by her parents; son Chuck Marsh; great-grandson Paxton Nelson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard, Maurice (Mamie), Lowell (Dixie), Russell Johnson; sister-in-law Darlene, and sisters and brothers-in-law Celesta (Clarence) LaCroix, Joyce (Harold) Bergler, Opal (Maynard) Blanchard.  

Delores is survived by her son Larry (Kathy) Johnson of Buffalo, MN, and daughter Nora (Eddy Lopez) Bridges of Maplewood; brother Don Johnson of Bemidji; 6 grandchildren: Chad (Kim), Wade (Heidi), Derrick, Shane (Kristen) Johnson, Carissa Marsh, Candice Nelson; 10 Great-grandchildren: Paige, Nicole, Cody, Tanner, Isabel Johnson; Jasper, Silas Marsh; Paige, Preston, Parker Nelson and 1 great-great granddaughter, Paislee Backes, along with a host of nieces and nephews and their families.  

In keeping with Delores’ wishes, there will be no service and she will have a private burial at a later date, followed by a family reunion like she looked forward to and attended each year since 1996.
