Celebrating the Life of Kelvin Barnard Williams
October 5, 1959 - September 2024 Kelvin Barnard Williams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord at the age of 64. Born on October 5, 1959, in Hastings, Florida, to Thomas Clark and Theressa Williams-Anderson, Kelvin lived a life grounded in faith, family, and community.
Educated through the St. Johns County School District, Kelvin was a lifelong learner, dedicated to bettering the lives of others. As a devoted member of Pompey’s Temple COGIC in Hastings, Kelvin’s faith was at the heart of all he did. His belief in God’s plan guided him through life’s joys and challenges, allowing him to be a pillar of strength and compassion for everyone around him.
Kelvin met the love of his life, Beatrice, during their teenage years. Their love story blossomed into a marriage that spanned over 43 beautiful years. Together, they raised one son and three daughters, and Kelvin poured his heart into being a present, caring, and dedicated father. His family was his pride and joy, and he gave his best every day-whether it was through the meals he lovingly prepared, the music that filled their home, or the precious time spent fishing with loved ones. Those who knew Kelvin will remember his infectious laugh, his talent for storytelling, and his deep love for his grandchildren. He was happiest when surrounded by family, offering wisdom, warmth, and kindness. Kelvin had a special way of making everyone feel valued and loved, always lending an ear or helping hand when needed. Kelvin was preceded in eternal rest by his parents and his sister, Lois Sampolin, and Eugene Anderson Jr., but his legacy continues through the cherished memories of his family and friends. He leaves behind his loving wife, Beatrice L. Williams; his devoted son, Kelvin B. Williams Jr.; and his three beloved daughters, Teneka (John III) Lyons, Kiera (Stanley) Williams-Cooper, and Yasmine A. Williams. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald (Rosann) Williams, Lorenzo Williams, Charles (Teresa) Clark, and Raymond (Arin) Anderson; and his sisters, Valgene Simmons, Gwendolyn (Dennis) Carey, and Tiowana Williams-Johnson. Kelvin’s extended family includes sister-in-law Barbara Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will continue to cherish his memory. Kelvin was especially proud of his grandchildren: Tianna Lyons, Zion Cooper, Skai Cooper, Levi Cooper, and adopted grandchildren Trae’asjah Lyons and John Lyons VI. His heart was full of love for his great-granddaughter Londyn Johnson, whom he adored. A Homegoing Celebration to honor the life of Kelvin Barnard Williams will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, 11:00 AM at The Lord’s Temple City of Refuge, located at 140 Gilmore St, Hastings, FL 32145. Bishop Thomas Cave III will officiate the service. Following the celebration, Kelvin will be laid to rest at Pattersonville Cemetery in East Palatka.
Arrangements are entrusted to Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Service in San Mateo, FL. Kelvin’s unwavering faith in God, devotion to his family, and service to his community will be remembered forever. Though he may have departed this earthly life, his spirit and love will remain with us always. We take comfort in knowing he is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.
