Obituary

Our mother was born Jan 16th, 1928 in Freeland, PA. Daughter of Neil and Mary(Washivage) Citro. She had 7 siblings Louis, Helen, Alphonso, Gerome, Louise, Marie, and Lawrence. Sometime in her school years she moved to Summit Hill PA and graduated from the local High School in 1944. She did not go to college but should have an honorary Ph.D. in everything from loving your children to getting the best grocery deals. She had grocery prices memorized and would have gone far in the "PRICE IS RIGHT" She is currently 92 yrs old as this is being written and most people, when informed of her age, have their mouth drop b/c she could pass for mid 70's easy. She will be quick to tell you that she looks the way she does b/c she buts a lot of time into it. It is not like she has the caked make-up and the large rosie checks, not at all. She means that she exercises and says her prayers twice a day(prayers might be 3 x's). She married our father May 20th, 1950 at the age of 22. Her children are Thomas 1951, Patrick 1953, Dennis1955, Ronald 1958, and Margaret Mary 1964. She had one miscarriage between Dennis and Ronald. She nursed our father through many illnesses and despite those illnesses, he was very financially supportive and our mother was left to do the most important job in her life, be our MOM, and she did it OH SO WELL. She never participated in any sport but after seeing our father play tennis she became very interested in professional tennis for many years. There are less than a hand full of movies that she felt were worth seeing and as a young girl she did have a crush on Van Johnson. When we look at the Christmas of 1968 photo of her basting the turkey with her apron and smile knowing she is taking care of her family. She almost seems like a poster girl for an era done by.
