Charles was born at 609 Barret Ave Lou Ky 6 13 1932 attended rubel ave school then eastern jr high and graduated from louisville male high in jan 1950 class of 1949.5 went to work for f w woolworths as ast manager where he meet marguerite . she was a saleslady they where married on june 12 1951 he later went to work as the manager of a o and l variety store and then as manager of marguerites uncle {mose franck ] hardware store . later became service manger of mose franck heating and air cond. co the last 5 years before retireing he went to work for schiller hardware as a salesperson before a month went by he was offered the job of manager of the main store which he turned down. he rembered as a boy of 4 the 1937 flood when the water reached the first step on the house on barret the house was on a hill so it would have taken another 10 foot of flood to enter it . on dec 7 1941 he was at the baxter movie house when the show stoped and all military personal where ordered back to base for the next few years he collected scrap metal,newspapers and bought war bonds when the war in korea broke out he was found to have a hole in the ear drum and could not serve When his father was in a nurseing home he meet a lady that was a distant kin she gave him one piece of paper with family history after 21 years he had acclumulaated over 600 pieces of history which is now in a book located at fort wayne library he became a member of the sons of the american revolution,sons of american indian wars,society of the war of 1812 orphan brigade kinfolk, the blue and the gray,louisville civil war round table,louisville genealogy,howard steamboat museum,morgans men asc.,confederate pow society, a kentucky colonel, military order of foreign wars,sons and daughters of pioneer rivermen, museum of the confederacy.ky historical society, louisville historical league,louisville male high alumina,montour genealogy society,scottish societly,ancestral trails historical society, and national society of sons of the american colonfts
