Obituary

Beth was born in Fort Wayne and Adopted by Oronzo 'Renz' and Barbara Foster Palumbo. She graduated from DeKalb High school and attended Wayne beauty college in Fort Wayne. Beth and Dave met a Burger's IGA in Auburn, where they were hired on the same day..I guess it was fate. We both worked in the meat Department for over a year but after we became engaged the owner let her go saying it would be a conflict having us both there, we were so mad !! Brytannie was born in September of 1983 , we still lived at our first apartment on 7th street. I had gone home at lunch and Beth was on the couch and she wouldn't respond to me so I carried her down the steps , out to our 1974 Cutlass and drove her to the doctors office. They took her directly to the operating room and took Brytannie out C-section. The doctor said she had toxemia and had I not gone home at lunch she might have died before I got home from work, and I would have lost both of them. Brytannie was 4 pounds 4 oz and stayed in the hospital for 1 week before we could bring her home, we had to feed her every 4 hours until she gained enough weight to satisfy the doctor. After she was about a month old we moved to Garrett in an apartment at 106 1/2 east King street above the pizza place and across from Bill's liquor store. It was huge and Beth painted there so we could move in. We lived there all summer and mom and Dad decided to move across town from 404 South Johnson where they had lived since 1964 and sold the house to us, we moved in in August of 1984 and had Brytannie's first birthday party there, it would be our life time house. We had a least 1 summer party every year for 31 years it was usually around the second week of August except for the last few years we had a few Halloween party's as well. Our last party together was a combination Birthday/ Halloween party for Beth , It was on the Saturday before she died on Tuesday Nov. 4th. It was a great party we gave hearse rides did coffin shots, Beth made up a drink that had Gin-Sprite and grenadine and called it a 'bloody banshee 'she poured shots in your mouth if you laid in the coffin. We also had a nice bon fire. It was a great night.
We never had much money when Brytannie was little but Beth always planned a few thing for us to do like going to a hotel for the night and letting her take a friend , we also went to Cedar Point and Kings Island and spent the night in a Hotel the night before.
Beth had worked in a few factory's and other jobs BMV, Shell, she bartended at the American Legion, Martin's, Traxside in Garrett and the Hanger in Auburn before finding her nitch at Kroger when she ran the Florist shop, she was amazing at coming up with themes for Valentines day, she won awards every year . We thought we would try our hand a owning a business and bought the Garrett Greenhouse in 2005 Beth was in the process of bringing back a sinking ship when the recession hit in 2008 and we would have to close the business...she was heart broken, it was what she Loved to do..and she was so good at it !! Beth didn't work after that.
Beth Loved our first born Grandchild Adysson, they are so much alike, Ady spent the night every Thursday and that was their night. They watched project runway , say yes to the dress and then Ady watched her shows on Nickelodeon. Beth lives through Ady now.........I see so much of Beth in her.
Lantz played baseball ever since her was old enough to and we never missed a game, Beth would root him on , you could always hear her over everyone else.
Lexy came along and stole our hearts as Grand child number 3. Beth would say I just Love that baby !! She always told her she had the cutest little butt and that would make her mad ..it was funny. She always told Ady she had a rump roast.
Beth enjoyed playing bingo at the Garrett Eagle's every Saturday night and calling the weekly drawings on Tuesday nights, she started a tradition that goes on yet today in her honor of doing trivia questions at the end of the drawing.
Beth's favorite food was pepperoni pizza with lite sauce and that was the last meal she had at Pizza Hut the day she died.
In 2018 we were able to find Beth's birth family. Her birth mother was Betty Mullins of Fort Wayne and her birth father was Miles Murphy. They were married and went through a divorce the year Beth was born. She has a full sister born in 1959 (Sandy).
