Martha Gonzales Venti

September 8, 1937 – May 24, 2026

Martha Gonzales Venti, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the age of 88.

Martha was born on September 8, 1937, to Mariano and Alcadia Gonzales.  She was preceded in death by her parents and nine of her brothers and sisters and is survived by her brother, Anthony "Tony" Gonzales.

On January 11, 1955, Martha married the love of her life, Benjamin "Frank" Venti. Together they shared an extraordinary 71 years of marriage built on unwavering love, faith, sacrifice, and devotion. Through every joy and challenge, they remained one another's greatest source of strength and support.

Together they raised four children: Lynda, Debi, Frances, and Benjamin "Benjie" Venti. Martha endured every parent's greatest heartbreak when Benjie passed away on July 31, 1993. Though she carried that loss in her heart for the rest of her life, she continued to pour her love into her family with remarkable grace, resilience, and unwavering faith.

Martha was the heart and backbone of her family. She was the quiet strength that held everyone together—the one her family could always count on for unconditional love, wise counsel, encouragement, and unwavering support. She believed deeply in each of her children, always seeing the best in them and inspiring them to become the people they were meant to be. Whether caring for her family, supporting her husband throughout his years of public service, or simply being there whenever someone needed her, Martha gave of herself wholeheartedly. Her love was steady, selfless, and unconditional.

Family was the center of Martha's life. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother whose greatest joy was watching her family grow through five generations. She treasured every child, grandchild, great-grandchild, and great-great-grandchild, celebrating each milestone with love and pride. Her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, comfort, and acceptance.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Martha trusted God throughout every season of her life. Even during years of chronic pain and declining health, she faced each day with courage, dignity, and grace. She rarely complained, choosing instead to focus on caring for those she loved and finding joy in life's simple blessings.

Martha had a gift for making a house feel like home. She especially loved tending to her garden, finding happiness in watching flowers bloom and patiently nurturing her plants. One of her proudest accomplishments was growing a pineapple—a labor of love that took nearly ten years and perfectly reflected her patience, perseverance, and appreciation for the simple joys in life.

Those who knew Martha will remember her gentle smile, compassionate heart, quiet wisdom, and generous spirit. She taught by example that love is shown through kindness, forgiveness, service, and putting others before yourself. Her legacy lives on not only in the family she raised, but also in the values she instilled that will continue to guide future generations.

Martha is survived by her devoted husband, Benjamin "Frank" Venti; her daughters, Lynda, Debi, and Frances; her brother, Anthony Gonzales; her beloved family spanning five generations; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Benjamin "Benjie" Venti; her parents, Mariano and Alcadia Gonzales; and nine of her brothers and sisters.

While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior. Her legacy of faith, strength, compassion, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
